MRT
Electromagnetic Wire Rope Inspection
Electromagnetic wire rope inspection (MRT) for internal and external defect detection, assessing structural rope integrity.
Overview
Magnetic Rope Testing (MRT) is an advanced NDT technique that assesses the internal and external condition of wire ropes without disassembly. MRT detects loss of metallic area (LMA) and localized faults (LF) invisible to conventional visual inspection.
RIGGING TECH uses state-of-the-art MRT equipment to inspect wire ropes on winches, cranes, and mooring systems, providing precise condition data and evidence-based recommendations for replacement or continued service.
Our Process
Planning
Scope definition, rope identification, and history review.
Calibration
MRT equipment calibration for the rope type and diameter.
Inspection
MRT equipment pass along the full rope length.
Data Analysis
LMA and LF data analysis by qualified technician.
Reporting
Report with graphs, analysis, and recommendations.
Follow-Up
Comparison with previous inspections for trend analysis.
